Fire Retardant Coverall — Protection for Heat & Flame
Not an ordinary coverall. Engineered for work with heat and flame risk in oil & gas, mining, and heavy industrial facilities.
Grinding sparks in an oil & gas work area
Fast response to a fuel fire on the work floor
Welding in a heavy industrial facility
Handling fire on heat-pressurized equipmentTextile Test Method
What do ASTM textile tests measure?
Not an ordinary coverall for work with heat and flame risk.
ASTM is a standards organization, not a fabric origin label.
ASTM D6413/D6413M measures the vertical flame response of textiles under controlled lab conditions.
A fabric test result does not automatically certify a finished coverall for a particular workplace hazard.
Ask for the exact standard number, report, tested material, and applicable acceptance criteria.
A test report must identify the exact ASTM method and result. ASTM D1230 for general apparel must not be used as proof of protective workwear compliance.
Protective Clothing Standard
What does NFPA 2112 cover?
Not an ordinary coverall for work with heat and flame risk.
NFPA 2112 addresses flame-resistant clothing for short-duration thermal exposures from fire.
Its requirements are not equivalent to a single textile flammability test.
Compliance must be supported by applicable garment documentation and verification.
NFPA does not identify whether the garment material is imported or locally made.
The applicable edition, product documentation, and verification must be checked before claiming a coverall meets NFPA 2112.
ASTM Textile Testing and NFPA 2112
Choose the right one, protect what matters.
An ASTM textile test is not equivalent to NFPA 2112 garment compliance. These references describe standards only; they are not a certification claim for any Sumsido product. Ask our team to confirm verifiable evidence for your exact order.
Genuine FR vs Counterfeit
They can look alike on the outside — quality is another story.
Genuine / Original
- Manufacturer / supplier identity is clear
- Fabric specification and labeling are complete
- Stitching, reflective tape, and details are consistent
- Supporting documents are available for verification
Counterfeit / Unclear
- Focused on looking similar, nothing more
- Product origin is often unclear
- Material quality and stitching are inconsistent
- FR claims are difficult to prove
Don't be fooled by the term "similar to original."
